Directions: From RT.6 turn onto South Frontage RD.Then turn onto Ross
RD. then you will make a right at the Ross"Pond sign. just keep
following the brown signs that say Ross" Pond boat ramp.When you get all
the way down to the boat ramp you can park anywhere just don"t block the
ramp.Now standing looking at the boat ramp their will be a trail to your
left,you will see two rocks with blue dots that's where it starts.Enter
the trail and you will come to a T take a right,you will be walking with
the pond on your right.You will pass a tiny path to your left but keep
going straight,then you will pass a few more paths two, going up a hill
and one heading to the water but you stay on the main trail.Then it will
round the bend to the left and you will come to a Y take a right.Soon
you will go up a little hill and pass through a grove of mountain laurel
and every once and awhile you will pass little orange sign on the trees
stating leaving state propertiy but your ok on the trail,the trail is
all on state property.Keep going and the trail will bend to the right
going down hill and then to the left going up hill and then back down
again.Soon you will pass through a stone wall and then a small
stream,make your way across and go through yet another stone wall
staying on the path keep going and you will come to a stone wall
again.From here you can hear the sounds of the highway,continue on and
you will go over a highway run off ramp for water.Then go over a tunnel
that lets the water under the highway,stay on the path all along the
back side of the pond you will come to a stream bed rounding the pond
cross and keep to the trail. Then you will twist and turn through
another grove of mountain laurel (Notice the ledges to your left this is
the beginning of Ross" cliff).Soon you will come to a stone wall that
will run parrallel with the trail,NOTICE the seven white tall soldiers
standing all together on the opposite side of the wall the Letterbox is
behind those trees under some sticks and a rock.To return keep following
the trail and you will come a T with a trail marked with blue dots take
a right and continue on until you come to another T and you also take a
right here as well. You will then come to a fork,go right and cross over
a little stone wall and then a path to your right but stay with the blue
dots then you will pass through a stone wall,you will come to a T and
you turn left here now just follow back to your car.
